A DREAM COME TRUE


  I see in you the softness I need to soothe and the hardness to shield me from wounds.
  Your presence causes to me reaffirm my belief that men are truly god-like in nature.
  I am at times so full of reverence for what you stand for, that I become child-like in my response.

  I fold and fight the urge to kneel at the sight of you. 
  I do not fear you, on the contrary...I know you cannot and will not hurt me. 
  I see in you the love of many generations, the glimpse of which is so bright,
  it causes me to wonder if I should run, but I know I'll stay
  and I will look away so that I do not loose myself in your aura. 
  The slightest movement from you causes the very air between us to ripple,
  sight seen only by me, and I have to breathe deeply and deliberate to maintain a normal rhythm.

  You must know that you stepped out of my dream...
  you walked into my life causing me to see the beauty in you
  and to forever be grateful for the chance to have been touched by your sheltering and life sustaining presence. 
  You see you came at a time in my life when I needed to feel the growth of my heart
  in such an amazing and unexpected way. 
  I see in you the hopes and dreams of my future,
  and though that future may not have you in it as my soul mate...I see the sweetness nonetheless.

  I am not casualty...I am reborn because of what I have received from you.  The chance
  to grow and to share myself with another, the courage to try...the need to know if there
  are anymore like you...any more dreams come true.
